Pleasant View is a member of the New Liberty State Association of General Baptists and of the General Association of General Baptists. We support our denomination through donations to the General Baptist Unified Budget and support given to missionaries serving in the Philippines, Honduras, Mexico and Southeast Asia. We also support the camping ministry of Camp Allen both by financial contributions and sending campers each year to participate in the ongoing camping program.
We believe our purpose is contained in the purpose Jesus stated as the great commandment, "And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. And the second, like it, is ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31, NKJV) Our mission is also taken from the words of Jesus Christ in what has been called the Great Commission, "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20, NKJV) We hope you will follow these links to learn more about our Church and the ministries we support. |

Pleasant View General Baptist Church was established in the community of Risco in August, 1922. It has enjoyed over 85 years of ministry to Risco and the surrounding area.
Pleasant View is a traditional church with some very non-traditional ministry concepts. We organize a spring festival each year for the community and work to get full community support and involvement. We host the biggest block party in town each Halloween with our annual Trunk or Treat festival. We are active in helping Risco stay involved in fundraising for Relay for Life and its support of the American Cancer Society. We have very active children's and youth programs, a graded Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and vibrant worship.
