Pleasant View is involved in many types of ministries. We seek to serve God and our community in a variety of ways. Bible StudyWe have a graded small group program on Sunday mornings at 9:45 AM providing Bible study for children through senior adults. We also have age group appropriate programs on Sunday evening and Wednesday evening. Proclamation of the Word of GodOn Sunday morning and Sunday evening our attention focuses on worship and proclamation of the Word of God. We believe the Bible has the answer to life's problem and that the primary, but not the only, God speaks to us is through His Word. WorshipOur worship is lead by the outstanding music already mentioned as well as Biblical and relevant preach by Pastor Mark Powell and times of prayer and testimony. We actively seek the Spirit's direction in our times of worship and regularly seek healing both physical and spiritual and active participation in the ordinances of the church. MusicPVGBC is blessed with a great deal of musical talent. Our choir is outstanding and praises God each Sunday primarily through hymns and southern gospel praise songs. Rick Smelser is our choir leader and Sonya Landers our church pianist but we also are blessed with several other outstanding worship leaders and musicians as well as an excellent praise ensemble. Our special music varies from the outstanding southern gospel sounds of "Full Circle" to more contemporary songs sung by several of our younger members. Our youth and children's programs are very much involved in worship dances involving interpretive dance. Children's ProgramsBesides the Bible study programs already mentioned PVGBC has a quality Children's Church program led by Pam Wilson. Our Sunday night children's workers are Kim Powell, Jody Godbey, Billie Eakens and Jeannie Sawyer. Kim also leads the Wednesday night children's ministry program. Youth ProgramsOur active youth program is called Wake Up Call. Follow the links provided under ministry for further information about this excellent program. Nursing HomeWe are very active in local nursing home ministry. PVGBC ministers in both nursing homes in Malden. We have a very faithful and dedicated group serving in this ministry. On the third Sunday of each month the Parma General Baptist Church joins with us in our Malden Nursing Center service. Mission and CommunityThe church is heavily involved in community programs including Relay for Life and the Zack Eakens Toy Drive, missions programs such as Operation Christmas Child and several other activities throughout the year. We sponsor an annual community Spring Festival and host the largest block party in town at Halloween. Follow the links under this heading to learn more about our many ministries.
