Hey guys, welcome to my very first Blog, (not really sure what a blog stands for) hope you enjoy. Brother Mark helped me to access the youth ministry site so that I may keep you updated on upcoming events and to share with you what's on my heart.

Ron Luce has made the comment that if things don't change by the next college generation there will only be 4% church going Christians left. That's frightening and it should alarm you. The reason that this is true is there's several in this generation that has the attitude of "what's in it for me". If you'll review all throughout the New Testament and study how Jesus lived and his devoted followers you'll see the answer on how you should live. Jesus lived to serve and love others. He never was "what's in it for me" mode. I know the WWJD has become popular and I'm sure several of you have used it at times, but do we really mean it when we ask that question. WHAT WOULD JESUS DO!!!

December 4th and 5th           Church Christmas play/dinner theater

December 27-29th               Xtreme Winter Conference, Branson  (we'll be leaving Risco around noon on Sunday, the 27th)

There's two dates for Aquire the Fire. The first in St. Louis Feb. 12-13 which is a basketball night, the second is in Nashville, Tn March 12-13. I need to know from you guys which one you want to go to. Of course it'll be a longer trip to Nashville and be more expensive but I don't want to leave anyone home either. Ask your coaches and/or cheerleader leaders if they'll excuse you. I know coaches in the past have done this. Let me know.
